PORTSMOUTH, N.H.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Position Imaging announced today that shipping industry leader Ivan Hofmann will join the company’s Board of Directors.
Position Imaging has quietly been developing the most cutting-edge tracking technologies in the world and is focused on improving the efficiency of many of the processes used throughout the logistics chain. Today the company has created new platforms that can track where packages, inventory, assets, and/or personnel are located, precisely, in real time, all without the use of RFIDs.
Ivan Hofmann originally joined the company as an advisor to help show the team how these new tracking technologies could best be utilized and optimized throughout the various shipping processes. With Ivan’s guidance and insight, the Amoeba™ technologies were advanced to best integrate seamlessly with existing processes; saving time and cost, all without the use of RFIDs or radio tags placed on packages.
“When we started with our core Amoeba technology platforms, we were excited by what was possible and how we had created something that could actually change logistics. But, without the logistics background, we knew we were making assumptions in a vacuum,” says Ned Hill, CEO of Position Imaging. “Ivan’s deep understanding of the processes throughout shipping has shaped how we look at integrating our technologies and how best to work with the large shipping companies. His guidance and advice to me personally have been invaluable and has helped me plan the course ahead for PI.”
“I am excited to be part of the company and now the Board of Directors,” says Ivan Hofmann. “I have seen this team consistently execute its goals and be open to the challenges of creating both a great technology and great system solution. It has been fun to see this evolution and I am looking forward to this becoming a major player in the logistics marketplace.”
