About the job

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our highly skilled and energetic engineering team. We operate in small, agile teams to develop cutting-edge technologies that drive innovative, market-leading products. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting product requirements, selecting components, designing schematics and PCB layouts, and supporting designs from prototype through to production. You will play a key role in shaping the hardware platform and delivering reliable, well-documented, and cost-effective electrical designs. This is an opportunity to work with creative individuals and make a meaningful impact within a small, growth-oriented team.  Candidates with experience in RF systems and wireless product development are strongly encouraged to apply. This is an opportunity to work with very creative people and have a large impact within a small but growth-oriented team.

Minimum requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience as an electrical engineer, preferably in a product development environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to ensure timely delivery of hardware milestones.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including documentation and collaboration in tools like Confluence, JIRA, and Git.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with RF design and wireless communication systems (e.g., BLE, UWB, RFID, Wi-Fi) is a strong plus.
  • Strong proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, or equivalent).
  • Skilled in at least one programming language and capable of debugging and verifying the correctness of designs. (e.g., Python, C, C++)
  • Experience selecting and integrating microcontrollers, power management ICs, wireless modules, and sensors.
  • Understanding of electrical design principles, including signal integrity, grounding, power distribution, and EMI mitigation.
  • Familiarity with DC power systems, lithium-ion and lithium-polymer battery technologies, charging circuits, and battery protection schemes.
  • Experience bringing up and debugging hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab tools.
  • Solid understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test).
Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as FCC, CE, or UL is a plus

Additional skills

  • Works effectively in a multidisciplinary team and enjoys collaborating with mechanical, firmware, and software engineers.
  • Enjoys problem-solving and can propose multiple solutions based on data, tradeoffs, and system constraints.
  • Willing to prototype and experiment to validate design decisions and improve product quality.
  • Comfortable managing multiple design iterations and responding to feedback quickly and constructively.
  • Passionate about building high-quality, reliable hardware that users love.
  • Curious about RF behavior and propagation in real-world environments and willing to learn and grow RF expertise over time.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, mechanical engineers, and software engineers to translate product requirements into electrical system designs.
  • Evaluate and select components, sensors, power solutions, and other key parts based on performance, cost, and availability.
  • Create and review schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard ECAD tools.
  • Build and test prototypes to verify electrical performance and product functionality.
  • Take ownership of the electrical design through design validation, manufacturing handoff, and production bring-up.
  • Work closely with contract manufacturers and vendors to manage board fabrication and assembly.
  • Work with battery systems to support operation during intermittent or unreliable power conditions.
  • Debug hardware issues at the bench and propose effective, timely solutions.
  • Document designs clearly, including BOMs, test procedures, and revision histories.
  • If applicable, support the design, integration, and testing of RF subsystems (e.g., BLE, UWB, RFID), including antenna layout, matching, and signal integrity optimization.
